Summer is coming and after being locked down for what seems like years, travelers are chopping at the bits to head back out and see the world. This is especially for the rich people. Superyacht charters are booking out fast and brokers are reporting record business. With that mind, I thought I’ll give you look at the biggest and most expensive superyacht currently available for charter.
Flying Fox was built in 2019 by Lurssen. The yacht’s interior was designed by Mark Berryman Design and her exterior styling is by Espen Oeino. The ship sleeps up to 25 guests in 11 staterooms. She is also capable of carrying up to 55 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. At 446 ft (136m), Flying Fox is the largest superyacht you can charter.
Flying Fox is is built with Steel hull and aluminium superstructure. With a cruising speed of 15 knots (maximum speed of 20 knots) and 180,300 gallon fuel tank, Flying Fox can cruise 6,500 miles before you need to top up the tank. That means this boat consumes almost 28 gallons of fuel for every mile of cruising. Hopefully, none of your charter guests include any save the planet types.
The yacht’s impressive leisure and entertainment facilities make her the ideal charter yacht for socialising and entertaining with family and friends. Her many amenities includes a beach club, beauty room, two helipads (you supply the helicopter), massage room, swimming platform, tender garage, underwater lights, swimming pool, Air Conditioning, BBQ, beauty salon, fireplace, sauna, spa, sun deck, sunpads, cinema, steam room, deck jacuzzi, gym/exercise equipment, and WiFi connection on board. Six dedicated tenders will let guests land on the glitzy French Riviera or glamorous western Italy during the summer charter season.
One of the highlights is the 40-foot long swimming pool, which runs transversely on the Main deck. This is a first for a superyacht of this size and a technological challenge unlocked. For those looking to escape the outside world, Flying Fox is built with a 4,300 square feet 2-floor Spa including the finest assets and treatments that only a palace can offer.
All this can be yours starting at €3.5 million a week. That works out to $4.28 million USD at the current exchange rate. Divided by 25 guests, that works out to only $171,200 per person! Who wants to go with me?
